Things by simmcat is a project by Simona Catalani.

Born in Rome, Italy in 1996, she studied Painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she graduated in 2022. During her final year, she spent a semester in Stockholm as part of the Erasmus program, attending the Royal Institute of Art. There, she deepened her research for her thesis, which focused on pattern in relation to design, painting, and everyday life — a theme that would go on to shape her artistic path.

After returning to Italy in 2022, she attended a short course in “Illustration for Publishing” at IED in Rome. In September 2024, she continued her studies in London at Central Saint Martins, taking the course “Digital Print on Textiles.” This experience allowed her to explore fabric printing techniques and further refine her personal vision. It was during this time that her idea of launching a small brand and sharing her work began to take shape.

In addition to her visual practice, she is also a musician. Since 2021, she has released music under the name simmcat, and since 2023 she has collaborated with the label WWNBB, through which she releases her albums.
